Chain of Responsibility

Under compliance and enforcement provisions set down by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, Jolly & Sons has a general duty to ensure breaches of road transport laws do not occur.

Jolly & Sons chain of responsibility charter is in place so that everyone in our supply chain shares equal responsibility, which in turn, ensures road transport laws, and potential breaches of road transport laws do not occur.

The NHVR defines the chain of responsibility as: Anybody – not just the driver – who has control over the transport task can be held responsible for breaches of road laws and may be legally liable. CoR is similar to the legal concept of 'duty of care' that underpins Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) law.
