Maximising Space for Project Cargo

A mining client’s incoming project cargo required secure staging and daily handling. Jolly & Sons overcame warehousing constraints by reconfiguring operations and prioritising efficiency, continuity, and service integrity.

The Challenge

A mining customer required immediate staging support for a mix of equipment and perishables arriving ahead of project mobilisation. Their cargo volume strained existing warehouse capacity, creating conflict with existing long-term clients who relied on reserved space. The challenge was to accommodate new project needs while maintaining continuity for smaller clients — without compromising safety, accessibility or service quality.

The Solution

We relocated smaller storage clients to a nearby facility, enabling the consolidation of high-volume project cargo within our Karratha warehouse. We introduced a custom racking layout, prioritised daily access to critical components, and implemented controlled handoffs for perishables. Our approach preserved service levels for all clients, supported operational flow, and leveraged our regional presence to minimise disruption.

The Result

Our Karratha facility became a critical supply node for the mining client. We enabled secure, efficient daily access while maintaining seamless service for our smaller clients. This flexible response strengthened our relationship with both new and existing clients, showcased our capacity to pivot in complex environments, and highlighted our long-term value as a logistics partner in remote and resource-heavy regions.
